Lecta fuit supplicatio infrascripta

Essendo la reputatione un de i principal[i] fondamenti de Ca-
daun Stado, come quella che grandemente conferisse in tute le cose
é de pace, é di Guerra: De q[ual]e, che fu sempre uniuersal instituto de tuti i
Re, principi, é Republiche del mondo procurare de conseruarsela cum ogni
mezo, et non solamente á si medemi, mediante i preclari et memo-
randi facti: Ma etiam á la posterita mediante la memoria de quelli perpetuan-
dola non cum el mezzo de compendiose e incerte, varie et rude cronice
e annali: Ma de certe autentice, elegante, et floride historie, de quale quanto
più sonno state da i scriptori cum gran premio d'oro a ziò conducti ornate
de elegantia et eloquentia, Da le qual do parte, etiam senza alcuna altera-
tion de la uerita, le cose narrate receueno augumento et se fanno più illu-
strose, tanto hanno data mazore extimatione á le potentie, Da la qual extimation
