                  Si come i volumi de' buoni Autori, ne' miglior
                  tempi, apportarono gloriosa reputatione à que'
                  personaggi, à cui erano inviati, cosi ne' presen-
                  ti giorni, vengono ad essere d'incerto honore,
                  à chiunque si dedicano, per l'obliqua dispositio-
                  ne di molti Scrittori, che non presentano l'ope-
re loro, se non sono poco men che sicuri del guiderdone, seguen-
do la parte maggiore delle mondane operationi, c'hanno'l suo esi-
to per la via dell'interesse; laqual cosa non pur scema la dignità
a gli elevati ingegni de' tempi d'hoggi, ma somministra anco lo-
ro ampia materia di ragionare, per dargli qualque necessaria, &
honesta riforma; si come avenne questa proßima State, con l'oc-
casione d'un ridotto, che si facena nel Giardino del Mag. & Eccell.
