And it shall be known throughout the land that there is in the scroll written and signed by Esteemed Authorities and Rabbis an unequivocal decree of excommunication that no person may print or sell this work in Italy except for those books printed by authority of the noble [the publisher] Bragadini, and this is for fifteen years beginning on the 11th of Ayar 5339 [May 11, 1579]. Thus all are warned [to keep away from] their domain, so as not to receive harsh punishment, may that not happen. And there shall be peace.
