The Commission, by some Booksellers in this Kingdom, in the past years delegated to us, to counteract the shameful copying and selling thereof in every possible way, and with which accomplishment we constantly keep busy, has caused us to seek the advice of some of the most famous Legal Experts about the true sense and proper meaning of the 3rd Art. of the Act of 25 January last, concerning the publication of Literary and Artistic Works; forasmuch we feared that selfishness could perhaps operate to give a false interpretation of the provisions therein, and in that way continue



    


BERIGT.

De Commissie, door eenige Boekhandelaars in dit Rijk, in den verleden jare op ons verleend, om het schandelijk plaats hebbende nadrukken en verkoopen derzelve, op alle mogelijke wijzen tegen te gaan, en met welkers volbrenging wij ons onafgebroken onledig houden, heeft ons aanleiding gegeven, om het advis van eenige der beroemdste Regtsgeleerden in te winnen, over den waren zin en de juiste meening van het 3. Art. der Wet van 25 Januarij l.l., betreffende het uitgeven van Letter- en Kunstwerken; naardien wij vreesden, dat de baatzucht zich misschien zou kunnen bedienen, om eene verkeerde uitlegging aan het aldaar gestelde te geven, en langs dien weg haren roof
